The question we asked ourselves in designing this temple was not, “how large is it?” but rather: “is it larger than life?” In order for a space to enable the conversation between humans and the divine, the space should have sufficient scale to stimulate the urge for contemplation. That said, we are not fixated on size, but rather beauty, to bring about that sense of awe and “larger-than-lifeness” required of the temple. We have not added fixed dimensions to the design, because we hope to grow the structure as our budget allows. If all goes as we hope, the entire temple space should be somewhere around 70 feet high and 120 feet wide.
